Perlisten

Perlisten — the name is drawn from "Perceptual Listening" — was started by a handful of audiophiles with some of the finest engineering talent in the industry, and dates its official birthday to April 2016. The company is headquartered in Verona, Wisconsin, and develops its transducers from the ground up: the proprietary DPC-Array that anchors its S- and R-Series speakers was the product of eighteen months of acoustic simulation and prototyping before it reached a cabinet.

The engineering pedigree runs deep. Daniel Roemer brings more than twenty-five years in hi-fi, from advanced research for NHT, Acoustic Research, and Advent to heading R&D at MITek; Lars Johansen held management positions at Harman International in the 1990s and later served as president of Miller & Kreisel (M&K Sound).

Perlisten was the first audio company in the world to earn THX Certified Dominus — THX's newest and highest performance class, written for the largest home theaters — and by 2022 had twenty-five Dominus-certified products, more than any other manufacturer. The range covers the flagship S-Series, the R-Series it trickles down into, the approachable A-Series, the on-wall and architectural X-Series, and the D- and R-Series subwoofers, so a single timbre-matched system can run from a two-channel room to a full immersive theater.

On our demo floor, the R7t tower and A4t lead the Perlisten demonstration — two very different price points, one voice.
