The CXC is a dedicated CD transport that reads discs and passes the digital signal to an external DAC or DAC-equipped amplifier through coaxial and optical outputs. By omitting its own conversion stage, it lets the partnering DAC define the sound. Total correlated jitter is held below 140 picoseconds, and gapless playback is supported.
