The Planar 2 was developed alongside the current Planar 3 and carries the RB220 tonearm, a 24V low-noise motor and a 10mm float-glass platter on a high-gloss acrylic-laminated plinth. It is available with the Rega Carbon or the newer Nd3 moving magnet cartridge factory fitted.
