The X-CD9 is a Classic Line CD player with two miniature audio tubes in its analog output stage, visible through the front panel. A toroidal transformer supplies clean power to the CD mechanism, laser control, and the WM8762 DAC, and playback supports 24-bit/96kHz and 24-bit/192kHz oversampling. Coaxial and optical digital outputs sit alongside unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs, and a trigger input lets an amplifier switch the player on.
