The C12000 separates a preamplifier's two roles across two chassis: the C12000C Controller holds power and control circuitry while the C12000ST houses the fully balanced audio path, with left and right channels electrically isolated inside each. Both vacuum tube and solid state output stages are provided and are user selectable. Twelve analog inputs include two phono inputs configurable for moving coil or moving magnet with adjustable loading and gain from 40dB to 64dB.
