The MP100 is McIntosh's first dedicated phono preamplifier, built for both moving coil and moving magnet cartridges with six adjustable loading settings for each. Balanced and unbalanced analog outputs are joined by optical, coaxial and USB digital outputs, the latter allowing vinyl to be archived to a computer at 24-bit/96kHz. A mono switch reduces noise when playing mono records, and the digital section can be disabled entirely for pure analog use.
