The MS-1 Pre is the flagship music streamer of Matrix Audio's M Series, fitted with a built-in preamplifier stage. Dual AK4191 and AK4499 chipsets run in mono on separate left- and right-channel boards, and volume is set by resistor-array dividers switched by sealed reed relays, feeding adjustable XLR pre-outputs of up to 16VRMS alongside a pair of fixed-level XLR line outputs. Line, MM/MC phono, and digital inputs, an SFP fibre network port, an internal NVMe SSD slot, and a 10MHz external clock input build it into a complete digital front end. It runs the company's Linux-based MA Player system with the MA Remote App, and is Roon Ready with AirPlay 2, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Spotify Connect.
