The Cusis S is the reference model in Michell's Cusis moving coil range, pairing a Shibata stylus with a boron cantilever for extended frequency response. Like every Cusis cartridge, its generator is built around a samarium-cobalt magnet and coils of 30-micron pure copper wire wound onto an ultra-lightweight armature seated on a purpose-designed damper. A high-density body over a large aluminium chassis is shaped to control vibration and resonance.
