The current Gyro is a ground-up reworking of Michell's most recognisable turntable, keeping the suspended silhouette it has carried since the early 1980s while replacing what sits beneath it. The former cast chassis gives way to precision-machined 19mm aerospace-grade aluminium tooling plate with embedded brass weights, the suspension is re-tuned to 3.5Hz with lateral damping, and an aluminium baseplate replaces the acrylic Spider frame. The free-standing motor pod and its matching power supply are machined from solid aluminium billets, shielded, grounded, and governed by electronic speed control.
