The TN-5BB is TEAC's flagship belt-drive turntable, distinguished by XLR balanced phono outputs for direct balanced connection to a phono stage such as the PE-505. Its plinth layers a 36mm MDF baseplate under a 12mm synthetic marble top with washi paper washers between them, separating the motor from the tonearm, while the PRS3 optical speed servo holds the 20mm acrylic platter accurate across 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm. The knife-edge S-shaped tonearm was developed with SAEC, wired internally with PC-Triple C conductor, and arrives with an Ortofon 2M Red fitted; a powered lifter raises the arm automatically at the end of a side.
