The MA-1 is the M Series power amplifier, a Class AB design that can be switched between stereo, bridged, and mono operation. Ten ONSEMI power transistors per channel form a push-pull output stage biased into high current, delivering 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms in stereo mode and 500 watts into 8 ohms when bridged. Independent transformers for the two channels total 1250VA and feed a 190,000uF filter capacitor bank, while a temperature-controlled quiet fan with an isolated air duct handles cooling. Gain is selectable between +24dB and +30dB to suit different preamplifiers and speakers.
