The MP-1 is Matrix Audio's flagship preamplifier and the company's first Class A design, developed as the control center of the M Series. Four fully balanced amplification units handle the in-phase and inverted signals of each channel, with a high-bias Class A output stage running from a 60V low-noise supply and a DC servo holding output offset within 1mV. Volume is set by resistor-array dividers using 64 precision resistors and 32 sealed reed relays per control unit. Three XLR and three RCA inputs each take independent level trim, and the two XLR outputs and one RCA output can run simultaneously or separately for bi-amp configurations.
