The ND-1 is the dedicated DAC of Matrix Audio's N Series, built on AKM's AK4191EQ modulator feeding dual AK4499EX converters in an independent-channel arrangement. Its output stage is coupled through LUNDAHL transformers and can be switched between transformer and op-amp signal paths. Optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, IIS-LVDS, and USB Type B and Type C inputs are all electrically isolated, and a 10MHz input accepts an external reference clock such as the company's SC-1. XLR and RCA outputs offer two fixed levels or 100-step volume attenuation for direct connection to a power amplifier or active speakers.
